APPLICATION AREAS
The FIXMARK waterproofing membrane Prom series is used on building terraces, sloped concrete roofs, retain-ing walls, and foundations to achieve water and mois-ture impermeability. It can be used as a base layer water-proofing membrane on light metal roofs or prefabricated roofs. Designed for temperate climates, it can be used as a base or intermediate layer in waterproofing applica-tions. It is used in wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens, and on foundations subject to pressurized or non-pres-surized underground or surface water.
SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface for the Prom series must be cleaned of dust, dirt, rust, and oil, and loose particles should be scraped off. Depending on the substrate, if necessary, an FIXMARK liquid-applied waterproofing membrane primer should be applied to the surface and allowed to dry completely.
APPLICATION METHOD
If the surfaces to be waterproofed are concrete, they should be finished with a wooden trowel-floated sloping screed, and be clean and dry. Before applying the Prom series, a bituminous solution primer (FMC-3) or a bituminous emulsion membrane primer should be applied to the surface and allowed to dry. Application of the Prom series begins at the lowest point of the roof (lowest elevation) and perpendicular to the slope. The Prom series is adhered to the surface by heating it with a torch flame or by pouring hot asphalt in front of it. Staggering between rows is essential. For the membrane's 1-meter short side overlaps, a 10 cm overlap should be left, and for long side overlaps, a 15 cm overlap should be left. The joints must be properly adhered. Staggering between layers should also be 50 cm on the short side and 5 m on the long side.
STORAGE
Prom series rolls must be stored in covered areas in an upright position. If the rolls need to be stored outdoors for an extended period, they must be covered to protect them from sunlight. If rolls are to be stacked without pallets, they should not be placed on top of each other. They should be stored upright on a flat surface in enclosed spaces.
